I was too young to realize it at the time, but doing the math I noticed I must have bought Felicity within a year or two of her release ('91, right?). Out of curiousity (I would never sell her) I'm wondering how you tell a German Felicity for a normal PM Felicity. Is it hair color, or did all PM Felicity's have the copper hair?

My Felicity has the copper red hair, chubby cheeks, good coloring, and more natural looking green eyes (though still very green). She's also pudgier than my other dolls.

The Felicity in my sig is a 1991 Felicity. You can tell how red her hair is and how full her cheeks are. Also she has the artist mark behind her right ear. I don't think any dolls make in China have that mark.

It sounds like you have a lovely pm Felicity.

So if they have an artist mark on the back of their head below the ear... that means they were made in germany?

I know my Lissie and Molly are german... but all my PM dolls including Sam, Kirsten, and AGoT Asian Kaede all have the marks... but their clothes(all but sam's i'm sure of) is marked china.

What's the deal there?

I don't think not having the mark is proof that she is not German. The Felicity in my avatar is definitely German (confirmed by another board member), and yet she does not have the mark.

Can someone help me determine if my Felicity is German.... I got her before Addy was released.
She doesn't have the brightest red hair in the world, but it's definetly red. I've never seen another Felicity, so I can't compare.

Another way you can tell Felicity is from Germany is that she has no body tag, and the hair and the eyes are differnt from mattel. My Felicity is a 1993 West Germany Felicity. Also the softness in the eye lashes.

Here is my comparsion ablum of Mattel Lissie and my 1993 Pre-Mattel Lissie; Here is the link:

Hope thisis a little helpful for you.

Skittl -

She definitely looks German to me. And if you got her before Addy was released (which was 93, right?) she would have to be German, since didn't they not switch to China until 1994 or so?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thanks Linda It's hard to compare because, I only have one

My Addy is German, so it makes sense that my Felicity is German. Were all the dolls before 1994ish German? (I got a Kirsten before Felicity was released)
